New Findings

Well tonight the Indiana men's basketball season starts out against Howard University. I wouldn't surprised if it was a closer game than many people who go to Indiana believe it is. Indiana is returning a plethora of players including leading scorer Devan Dumes from last year. Also returning is freshman standout Verdell Jones III. Verdell started out last year shaky at best, but due to massive amounts of playing time and confidence from coaches and other players on the team, look for the young point gaurd to come out firing on all cylinders tonight.

I think that the main difference between the teams tonight could come down to the difference in conditioning. I have seen IU coach Tom Crean make his players run for miles, and at the same time, Tom also runs with them. It wouldn't surprise me if the Hoosiers look to run up and down the floor and also look for easy baskets on the fast break.

One player for the Hoosiers that will not be a surprise for the Hoosiers this year will be Matt Roth. Last year at about mid season Crean began bringing Roth in off the bench and it turned into a starting spot towards at the end of the season. Roth offers a real outside threat for the Hoosiers and could end up being one of the leading scorers this year for them.

Tonights game should be a good game, and I am looking forward to it. Tune into the Big Ten Network at 8 p.m. for the game.
